Millie was born on Ashley Road, grew up in the ward and now lives on Fortescue Road with her partner and their rescue dog, Cassie. Proud to call this part of Poole home, she has strong roots here and cares deeply about protecting the environment, supporting local projects and works to make sure our area is great place to live.

Experience
Millie founded the Branksome & Rossmore Community Fridge project, redistributing surplus food through local libraries and saving around three tonnes of food from landfill every month. She leads the Ashley Road “Win On Waste” recycling scheme and volunteers locally at Turner’s Nursery.

Millie also set up and chairs the Parkstone Community Group, organising the annual Christmas event and supporting local businesses and community projects. Millie regularly helps local organisations with fundraising, grant applications and community initiatives.

Community & Interests
Millie is committed to protecting green spaces and supporting community  projects, including creating a local community orchard. In her spare time Millie enjoys walking Cassie along the beach and spending time at Bourne Valley and the Branksome Rec.

Sandra Mackrow

Background
Sandra has lived in Newtown since 1980 and has been in the same home since 1986, where she raised her six children. All of them attended local schools and her youngest now studies at the North Road campus of Bournemouth and Pool College. Now a proud grandmother of five, Sandra’s family has deep roots in the area, with the next generation following the same local school paths.

Experience
Sandra has always been active in her community, particularly supporting families and young people while raising her children. Today she is a member of Parkstone Community Group and Haskells Rec  Community Group, working with others to support local activities and  protect valued community spaces.

Sandra enjoys being involved in neighbourhood projects and organising litter picks to help keep the area clean and tidy.

Community & Interests

Sandra enjoys all things creative, from crochet and sewing to home interiors  and gardening, finding ways to give things a new life. Sandra has also kept chickens in her garden and hopes to rehome ex-commercial hens again in the future. She enjoys spending time outdoors and values the simple  things, like our green spaces, that make a community a great place to live.
