Mark Battistini

Background
Mark was born in Bournemouth and is proud to live here with his wife. Growing up, his parents ran a café in the Triangle, giving him a strong connection to the local community from an early age. He later spent several years working with his brothers in a motorcycle business in Westbourne. Today, he runs Trove, a family-run business in the town centre, supporting independent traders, artists, and local entrepreneurs.

Experience
Mark has previously served as a local councillor and brings valuable experience in local government. Through his work, Mark regularly speaks with local residents and small businesses, giving him a clear understanding of the everyday issues affecting the area, including the importance of supporting our high street, town centre and community spaces.

Community & Interests
Mark is passionate about protecting what makes Westbourne special, its strong sense of community, independent businesses, and local character. In his business, he brings together a wide range of local traders, helping to boost our local economy.

Dawn Logan

Background
Dawn lives near Branksome Wood Road with her partner and their two young children, close to Upper Gardens. Her partner grew up locally and, after many years of visiting, they chose to make this area their family home

Experience
Dawn began her career in the energy sector before moving into health and social care, including leading the roll out of the largest integrated health and social care service in the country. She now runs her own businesses and regularly works from Patch in the town centre. 

Dawn has been a BCP councillor for the past seven months, working hard to support residents. A long-time volunteer, Dawn is a school governor, regularly visiting schools to inspire young people. She also regularly attends local litterpicks and works with community groups.

Community & Interests
Dawn enjoys staying active and is a member of Westover CrossFit. She loves getting involved in local events and spending time with her family, including enjoying the beach and our stunning coastline.

Simon Merritt

Background
Simon has grown up in Bournemouth. He has lived here for most of his life and is proud to call Bournemouth home. With strong local roots, he understands both the opportunities and challenges facing our town.

Experience
Simon is active in the community through his volunteering, including supporting Bournemouth Foodbank regularly, delivering hot meals to households across our communities. Previously, Simon volunteered as an English Teacher providing free conversation practise in the town centre. He also helps with local events at a Rotary Club. Simon is passionate about our town centre and finding practical ways to bring more events and cultural activities in, while also making sure people feel safe and welcome.

Community & Interests
Simon enjoys getting involved in local life, from performing with the All Saints Dramatic Society to playing football at a local football club and going for runs along the beach. With his brother now raising a young family here, Simon wants to help make our area an even better place for his nephew, and all local families, to grow up.
