Bourne Valley & Branksome East
Daisy Seymour and Russell Trent
Daisy Seymour
Background
Growing up locally, Daisy and her brother both swam, played and spent a lot of time outdoors in and around Rossmore Leisure Centre, the Heathlands, and Coy Pond. Daisy was a local girl guide close to Talbot Village.
Experience
Daisy now works in the arts, and uses that experience volunteering with an arts and literacy charity, hosting workshops and events for children at local schools.
Daisy has written several grant applications for funding for charities and will bring that expertise to Poole Town Council to ensure that money goes to the right local projects. She is regularly out and about, listening to local people, picking litter to keep our town clean and tidy, and working hard to improve our part of Poole.
Community & Interests
Daisy enjoys spending time outdoors and can be seen walking around our local parks. She is a keen reader and is a regular user of our local libraries.
Russell Trent
Background
Russell has lived in the area his whole life and is proud of his family’s deep roots locally. His father and grandparents lived on Arne Avenue in the 1960s and 70s, and Russell grew up in Rossmore, spending many happy childhood days on Hatchards Field, Bourne Valley and the old BMX track. He attended Kemp Welch School (now St Aldhelm’s Academy), just like his parents before him.
Experience
Russell works locally for a charity tackling deprivation in Poole and supports people into volunteering as part of his role as a Volunteer Coordinator, helping people gain skills. He regularly supports local community projects, food banks and family groups, and understands the challenges many residents face. Russell also volunteers with Community Speed Watch and is passionate about making neighbourhood streets safer for families, backing campaigns for road safety, quieter school streets and active travel.
Community & Interests
As a Beaver Leader at Burden Hall on Alder Road and working at a Forest School, Russell is passionate about helping local children build confidence and learn valuable life skills. In his spare time he enjoys cold water sea dipping and has an unusual hobby catching, photographing and releasing moths.
