David Brown
Background
David has lived in Bearwood for more than 30 years and has served the community as a local councillor since 2007. He lives locally with his Romanian rescue dog, Merlin.
Experience
Alongside his work in the community, David runs a small local vintage retail business and previously worked in financial services for 15 years. This experience has given him a strong understanding of budgeting and responsible spending. David has been a foster carer for more than 13 years, providing a home for 50 children and young people during that time. David has seen first-hand some of the challenges local families face. He is committed to supporting the most vulnerable members of our community. As a councillor, David has a proven track record of delivering for Bearwood. He successfully campaigned for a new pharmacy to open locally and helped secure an extension and accessible ramp for the community centre so it can continue to serve as community hubs.
Community & Interests
David has volunteered with a number of local groups including Bearwood Community Centre, Bearwood Social Club, and Bearwood Youth Club. Whether it is supporting local groups, helping residents with issues, or campaigning for improvements, David is always looking for ways to make Bearwood an even better place to live.
