Rachel Maidment has lived in the Alderney & Bourne Valley Ward for many years with her children, who also go to school in the ward.

She is passionate about opportunities for our young people, and maintaining and preserving the unique outdoor spaces and heathland.

Rachel says "I especially love to walk my dog locally and have been angry at the removal of waste bins that have seen significant increase in litter locally. I am frustrated with the cuts made by the current Conservative administration that are threatening our youth services, and those to our infrastructure, leaving many local roads suffering from heavy traffic and issues such as potholes. I want to see improvements made around our schools to ensure they are safe and build on the wonderful youth service to ensure that children have safe spaces to enjoy."
