Will you vote for the Liberal Democrat candidates in Bournemouth?
In Bournemouth West our candidate is Jon Nicholas. Jon says: "Bournemouth is taken for granted by a Conservative party that is no longer recognised by many who have previously voted for it. People I speak to are shocked that the Tories are turning their backs on jobs, democracy and even the rule of law. The undeliverable 'Leave' promises made during the referendum mean they have a lot to answer for. This country needs a fresh and honest approach to politics, as a Liberal Democrat I stand ready to demand better for Bournemouth, and better for Britain."
In Bournemouth East our candidate is Philip Dunn. Philip says: "I've seen at first hand the damage inflicted on our children through relentless Tory cuts to schools. Teachers across the country routinely have to get by without even the basics like textbooks and even pens and pencils. The Tory pledge in 2018 to fund schools adequately was never delivered and this has resulted in cuts to front line teaching and support staff up and down England and Wales."
Both our candidates, if elected, will work to:
- Stop Brexit
- Tackle the climate emergency
- Re-invest in our public services
