Liberal Democrats take Pride in Bournemouth

Bournemouth Liberal Demcrats were out in force at Bournemouth's "Bourne Free" Pride Festival.

We were the only political party represented at the event in Bournemouth's Lower Gardens which was attended by thousands of people from all over the country.

In addition to having lots of fun, campaigners launched our petition for the reinstatement of the Access to Elected Office fund. Launched by the Liberal Democrats when in coalition government, this fund enabled disabled people to receive financial assitance to run for office as councillors or members of Parliament. Since last year this fund has been frozen but we took the opportunity to gather hundreds of signatures and to lobby one of our local MPs on the issue.
local MP Conor Burns hears the argument for relaunching the Access to Elected Office fund.

Many people asked about the Liberal Democrat position on the recent referendum and were encouraged by our continued commitment to Britain's place within the EU. Several new members joined our ranks on the strength of this stance.

And.... guess what... a great time was had by all!
