Members of Bournemouth Liberal Democrats joined hundreds of other Lib Dems in London on Saturday 3rd September.
With the party's president, Baroness Brinton taking the lead, Liberal Democrats made up a sizeable portion of the march which began at Marble Arch before making its way to Parliament Square.
Following the recent disappointing referendum result, tens of thousands from a range of Pro-EU campaigns took part in the march which aimed to state the case for Britain's continued membership of the European Union.
The rally was reminded that only one political party has confirmed its unanimous support for remaining in the EU. Liberal Democrat speaker, and Member of the European Parliament, Catherine Bearder pledged to continue to fight for Britain in Brussels and Strasbourg. Her call for the UK to remain in the EU was echoed by a number of other speakers including journalist Owen Jones and comedian Eddie Izzard.
Local Lib Dem campaigns manager, Phil Dunn was at the march and said, "It's very important that we continue to make the case for our continued membership of the EU. We can not allow a decision that we believe was based on lies to damage our country's future without putting up a fight. Many Brexit supporters believe we should simply give up, but Liberal Democrats are not, and never have been quitters. We are not prepared to abandon our principles as easily as some other parties."
