Is BCP the most corruptible council in England?

20 Sep 2022

That is the question posed by WestCountryvoices.co.uk who reported on a series of measures that led to the view that BCP is most at risk.

One concern is the setting up of companies to undertake council work with council leaders as directors but where "activities, roles and even meetings are removed from full public scrutiny"

If that is not worrying enough the Conservative-led council is again featured in Private Eye's Rotten Boroughs - this time raising concerns over the selling of the beach hut leases to... er... itself... to finance a budget black hole.

"Auditors have warned that the council's plans to sell thousands of beach huts to itself carries an "inherent risk" to taxpayers' funds."
