Consultation begins on BCCA

Local residents are being asked for their views on how the BCCA should be used in the future, reports local campaigner Lorraine Crouch.

At present BCCA is mostly used by Bournemouth Adult Learning to provide courses, funded by the Learning and Skills Council.

A review has shown that costs are higher at BCCA than other possible venues, and that the facilities are not as good as other places.

Because of this Bournemouth Adult Learning have decided to move out later this year.

'The Lib Dems are making sure that the Council fully consults other BCCA users and residents on how to make best use of the venue,' says Lorraine.

  • Boscombe will still benefit from adult learning courses. Venues being considered include Boscombe Childrens' Centre, Boscombe Enterprise Centre, the Indoor Bowls Centre at King's Park and Owls Road Day Centre.
