From Monday 4th September your Lib Dem Council is going even greener with a new FREE garden waste collection service across the town. The scheme comes at the same time as your Lib Dem Council is revamping doorstep recycling.

Lib Dem Group Leader, Cllr Andrew Garratt says:

"About a third of the rubbish we throw away is garden waste. Yet it could all be recycled and turned into something useful, like compost! The new scheme will see the Council offering a FREE collection of garden waste, and also temporary weekend 'bring sites' where residents can take their garden waste to be composted."

To part in the scheme residents should contact the Council on the Green Waste Hotline (01202 451649) to be issued with a bio-degradable paper sack and to arrange a collection day.
