Poll result shows Lib Dems are in touch

12.18.00pm UTC (GMT +0000) Sat 4th Mar 2006

The latest poll from ICM in the Guardian shows support for the Liberal Democrats increased at Labour's expense.

'The Lib Dems ... are back at 21%, recovering the two points they lost between December and January when they weathered the dual resignations of Charles Kennedy and Mark Oaten.' (Guardian Unlimited February 21st)

This follows on from the stunning victory in the parliamentary by-election in Dunfermline and West Fife.

'The Lib Dem message of fairness is one that the public really care about,' says Councillor Andrew Garratt. 'They have not been taken in by David Cameron's spin and are fed up with the Labour Party who increasingly show they are out of touch.'
